Your option is eligible for 240 hour visa free transit twice. You should have in mind to buy your ferry ticket from Shekou (a port in Shenzhen) to Macau before your departure from UK. Also, you will have to depart from Macau to Shekou by ferry and then proceed toward Guangzhou.
Does it mean I could go Macau day trip without staying the night, or do I need to spend a minimum of 1 night in Macau? Since its a 240 hours visa twice, can i enter Macau from Zhuhai gongbei port then re-enter china via Shekou ferry Shenzhen? Thanks

Yes, you can go to Macau for a day trip without staying for one night and you can re-enter via Shekou Port but remember to take the flight ticket leaving for Manchester while re-entering.

Yes, you can visit Macau as a day trip without having an overnight. In reality, it would be better to stay overnight in the eyes of the mainland China border authorities, but an exit to Macau and a return during the same day will also do the job to enjoy 2 x 240 hour visa free transit (please, just use correct terminology because this is not a visa, but visa free transit scheme). You can enter Macau in the way to produce a ticket from a point in mainland China directly to Macau. This ticket is a prerequisite to be allowed to board the plane in Manchester, so this particular ticket has to be an undeniable and indisputable proof of your travel intention. This is the reason why do we always suggest a ferry from mainland China to Macau. You can try to find a bus, but you have to produce a ticket in advance and have it at hand at the time of check-in for your Beijing bound flight in Manchester. Of course, to enter mainland China (Guangdong province in your case) from Macau, you will really have to use a ferry to Shekou. No, alternative.
