About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I need a transit VISA?

Travelling from Japan to UK via PEK on a South African passport, my layover is 21 hours. Do I need a visa to leave the airport and do some sight seeing?

You only need to apply for a 24h temporary entry permit at the border inspection counter to leave the airport. It costs none.
