Transit visa

Hi,
I am a British Citizen travelling to Shanghai on 13th April. I then travel to Xi'an and Beijing where I fly to Hong Kong on 19th April (6 days later). On 21st, I fly back to Shanghai and stay there until 26th when I travel back to the UK.
Can I do this on the transit visa?

So the first trip to China is like UK - Shanghai - Xi'an - Beijing - HK? It's an eligible route for the 240h visa free transit. And the second trip HK - Shanghai - UK is also an eligible one.
