UK citizen (Japan permanent resident) China Biz trip visa appl. to Tokyo China Embassy

I am a UK citizen who is permanent resident in Japan. I need to go to Weihai, China for a 1 week biz in March 2025. I just received the invitation letter from the China company I plan to visit which lists the dates for the March visit (only). But it is likely that I will need to go to visit the same company several times on separate Biz trips during the next 12mths. Can I apply for the 1 yr multiple entry visa using the invitation letter that I have?

It's possible but it depends on the consular officers. I think you can provide more documents to prove your long-term business visits in China to get more possibility.
