About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transit from Different Terminals

I was planning to buy a transit ticket through Beijing Capital Airport to travel to Japan, but I realized that my arrival is at Terminal 2, while my departure is from Terminal 3. It seems there is some distance between the terminals. I have an 11-hour layover between my flights. The consulate website states that transit is allowed as long as I do not leave the airport within 24 hours. However, I need to leave the airport.

You mentioned that a temporary stamp is given for exiting the airport. Is this procedure guaranteed? Should I cancel my ticket?

You can get a 24h temporary entry permit if your layover is longer than 8 hours. So you don't need to cancel your ticket.
