About:Ferries Between Hong Kong and Shenzhen

Transit Visa at Shekou Port?

US citizen, trying to travel on 240h transit visa. Flying LAX-TPE-HKG and plan to take ferry to Shekou Port to apply for TWOV, then return flight a few days later, SZX-TPE. Do I need to enter HKG and take the Ferry from Hong Kong Sheung Wan Ferry Terminal for this to work? Do I need to have a Visa in order to board the Ferry or do I handle that at Shekou Port?

You can take a ferry from HKIA to Shekou, Shenzhen without entering HKG to apply for the 240h free transit at Shekou Port with a confirmed flight ticket from Shenzhen to TPE.
