About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

HK-Shenzhen Shenzhen-Taipei

US citizen trying to enter China for 2 days. If I enter Shenzhen via HK, travel to Dongguan for 2 days, then fly Shenzhen to Taipei do I qualify for a transit visa? I'd like to visit Shenzhen but also see a vendor in Dongguan.

If you enter Shenzhen by ferry or air, then you are eligible for the 240h visa free transit which allows you to stay in 24 provinces and regions including the whole Guangdong Province for 10 days.
