visa requirements for hong kong to guilin travel 6 days

We will travel by train from Hong Kong to Guilin area early in March 2025 , and have heard different things about visa free travel for up to 240 hours stay.. We will be on Canada Passports .. Please advise if correct that we can cross the Border from Hong Kong to Guilin by train (we have booked tickets already) with out the need for a visa.. Different sites say different things..????... Please advise.. Thank you..

Under the 240h visa free transit, you cannot take a train from HK to Guilin as West Kowloon High Speed Rail station is not an eligible port to enter Mainland China. You can take a ferry from HK to Shenzhen Shekou, get the entry permit there, then take a train from Shenzhen to Guilin.
