About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hi, can I fly into Beijing from London, bullet train to Shanghai and then fly to Ho Chi Minh

Can I fly into Beijing but out of Shanghai to Vietnam on as a 240 visa free visitor

Yes, you definitely can. You should just take care that your entire transit time in mainland China is longer than 24 hours and shorter than 240 hours. You are allowed to move within major part of China under this, newly established 240-hour visa free transit scheme.
