About:Chengdu Tianfu International Airport

with a 20 hour stop over in chengdu airport is it possibile to visit the Chengdu giant panda base?

Hello,
We have a stopover from rome to melbourne of about 20 hours and would like to visit the chengdu reserch base of Giant Panda breeding. Are there tours that depart directly from the airport ? Or where can we get on to go to the base?
If a take the express line 18 and arrive at the centre, what is the best way to get to the giant panda base?
Thank you for your attention

It's feasible to visit the panda base during the layover. I know this website can customize the itinerary to meet your individual needs. Check this tour and contact them to see if they can pick you up directly from the airport: https://www.travelchinaguide.com/package/chengdu02.htm

If go by public transport, these are the ways: You can take airport shuttle bus line 3 to Chengdu Zoo, transfer to metro line 3 to Panda Avenue, then take the shuttle bus at the metro station to the base. You can also take metro line 18 to South Railway Station, transfer to line 1 to Sichuan Gymnasium, then transfer to line 3 to Panda Avenue, and take the shuttle bus there to the base.
