Yes, you can do that by applying for a 5 days Shenzhen visa on arrival at one of three designated border crossings, Lo Wu (Luohu) being the most used and quite convenient. You are advised to be at Lo Wu (Luohu) border crossing at least at 08:30 because Luohu visa office starts at 09:00 in order to avoid the major queues. You will fill out a form, pay 130 CNY by your card and after a short waiting time a visa will be granted.
When returning back to Hong Kong you can take any border crossing and any mean of transport you want, high speed train included.0
