About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu

Visa-free transfer in Shanghai

Hi,
I have an 8-hour layover at PVG airport and I plan to go to the city center during that time. As a Polish citizen, I do not need a visa to stay in China for up to 15 days. I understand that therefore I do not need to obtain a permit at the airport for a 144-hour transfer. What document do I need to get to leave the airport, where should I go after landing ?

Peter, you have a very simple procedure to accomplish. During your flight to Shanghai, you will see that flight attendants distribute arrival cards to the passengers. You will take one and fill it out. The best option is to tick the transit box on it. Upon landing, you will just proceed to the immigration with your passport and with filled out arrival card. When you are done with the immigration, you will proceed to the city to enjoy some time on your own. Have a nice journey.
