Do you have a layover in China? You don't need a visa if the scheduled stop over is less than 24 hours.

Oli, you will not have any problem. It is just important that your entire transit time in China, counting from your first scheduled arrival until your final scheduled departure, will not exceed 24 hours. So, if this is the case, you will be covered by 24 hour visa free transit and you do not need any kind of visa.

You did not mention whether you will have just a single or multiple landings within mainland China, although I assume that you will have just one landing and a transfer in Chengdu. In any case, it is allowed to have more stops within China under 24 hour visa free transit, but again, your entire transit time cannot exceed 24 hours. Have a nice journey.
