China Visa Information

I am currently in Nanchang, Jiangxi. My China Visa recently expired. Can anyone tell me if there is anywhere in Nanchang ( location or agency) where I can get a new China Visa. If not do I have to go to Shanghai, and if so where can I get a new China Visa there ?? ( again the location or agency name) Thank-You very much

You need go to the local exit and entry office of the Public Security Bureau to state your situation. Since you have overstayed, you may need to pay the fine and they may give you a stay visa to give you time for leaving.

Thanks very much Emily. Actually I didn't overstay as my Visa is good for 120 days and I have only been here for a week. A few days ago it expired and now I want to go to Japan and come back in a few weeks but I'd like to get a new China Visa before I leave China as my current Visa will be expired when I come back if you understand what I am saying. In the mean time I will try and find the office you mentioned here in Nanchang, but it may be difficult without speaking Chinese. Have a great day Emily.

You want to get a new China visa in China before leaving for Japan? I'm afraid you cannot do this. You can only apply for a new one in your home country or the country you resident in with a legal residence permit. And I think you misunderstand the duration of stay and validity of a China visa. The validity is the period between the "Issue Date" and "Enter Before" date on your visa and the duration refers to how long you can stay in China maximum and is counted from the next day after entry. I think you need to recheck it.
