About:Overstaying in China & Penalty

Help!

I came to china on a Z visa for work, the school already applied for my work permit but not yet my residence permit, they are closing the school during the holidays and notified me after i went on holiday in a nother city in china, i have overstayed for 14 days, will they deport me? Or can i apeal for Leniency

Usually after you enter China on a work visa within one month, you need to apply for a residence permit by yourself at the local exit and entry administration. You need to go to the administration as soon as possible and state your situation.

I believe it is possible to modify the visa, but I don't know an awful lot, sorry.
