pvg airport to sha airport

Hello, Thanks for your amazing article. We are planning to travel from Amsterdam to Shanghai (PVG) airport. However, we saw a good flight from SHA airport in the same day. We will stay less than 24 hours in China. Can we get a free transit visa 24 hours in PVG airport and get a flight to Philippines in another airport in Shanghai - In that case will be SHA airport. My passport is Italian and my partner is Brazilian.Thanks in advance for your answer.

Yes, you can do that without any problem. You as Italian passport holder can enter China absolutely visa free and no formalities of 24 / 144 hours apply to you, because you are eligible for 15-day visa-free entry to China. Your partner will just approach 24/144 hour visa free transit upon landing in PVG where she/he will apply for a temporary entry permit by presenting her/his flight tickets. This application is free of any charge.After a short check she/he will be granted a permit and you will proceed to the immigration in order to collect your luggage and to exit the airport in order to catch your onward flight from SHA airport. You are good to go. Have a nice journey.
