About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

single or double entry

we are going to china from the uk. 1 week in china then 1 week cruise to japan from shanghai and returning to shanghai for our flight home. would this be classed as double entry?

I suppose you will travel around in China during the 1-week stay from UK, in the case a single-entry visa is needed.

The second segment, cruise back to Shanghai from Japan for the return flight to UK. How long will you stay in Shanghai this time? If it is less than 144 hours and the flight has no other layover in Chinese mainland, no visa will be needed for the transit.
