Your itinerary is definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit and you do not need any kind of visa. When you land in Shenzhen you have two options. One is to remain within the transit area (airside) and in this case you will not have to perform any formality and you will not be a subject of immigration and customs control.
Another option is if you prefer to exit the airport. In this case, you will approach 24/144 hour visa free transit counter as soon as you land in Shenzhen. There you will apply for a temporary entry permit in order to be allowed to exit the airport. You will present your flight tickets here and application is free of any charge. You have to by aware that the issue of a temporary entry permit is always dependent on discretionary decision of airport officials on the day since the issuing of this permit is not an intrinsic passenger's right, but more like a bonus. When your permit is granted, you will proceed toward immigration and spend your time in Shenzhen on your own will. Have a nice journey.
