About:Hainan 30-Day Visa-Free Access

Hainan visa free

My partner and I are German citizens and would like to take the round flight trip from Frankfurt to Shanghai for travel purposes and stay in Shanghai for 10 days in total including a short trip to Hangzhou. Afterwards we would like to buy a domestic round trip flight from Shanghai to Haikou (with a total stay of 6 days in Hainan). With the departure from Haikou to Shanghai we plan an overnight Shanghai before departure from Shanghai to Frankfurt. Do we need a visa or can we enjoy the 15 days visa free policy for the mainland China plus the 30 days visa free policy for Hainan? Thank you very much!

You enjoy 15-day visa free to China but you cannot apply for the Hainan 30-day visa free access which requires tourist to fly from a foreign country directly to Haikou Meilan Airport. So your total stay in China should be no more than 15 days. Sorry to tell that you have to rearrange your travel plan, or apply for a China visa beforehand to stay for longer than 15 days.
