About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

Travel to Shenzhen

Hi. Im planning to fly from Canada to Hong Kong and I was planning to take the train to Shenzhen then back to Hong Kong. Would I be eligible for 144 hours transit?

No, this is not possible by using any available visa free transit scheme, but you can do it by applying and obtaining a Shenzhen 5 days visa on arrival. However, you cannot apply for one by taking a direct train. You will have to take a local train to Lo Wu (Luohu) border crossing where you will apply for a Shenzhen VOA for affordable price of 130 CNY. It is highly advisable to be at Lo Wu (Luohu) crossing early enough, preferably not later than 08:30 to avoid major queues.

After your stay in Shenzhen, you can return back to Hong Kong by taking any border crossing or using any mean of transport, high speed train included.
