About:Baggage Allowance for Chinese Domestic Flights

Enter and Exit China with Visit Home Permit

I am a Hong Kong citizen living in the US and with a US passport. I also have a Visit Home Permit (for HK and Macau residents to visit China). I am going to China in Sept 2024 roundtrip from the US. Can I enter and exit China just using the Visit Home Permit without showing my US passport (or without China Visa)? Thanks!

As I know you can enter China with the permit, but I'm not clear with the exit because you need to show the permit and your US passport to leave for the US, while the permit is only for Chinese citizen which is contradictory with your US passport. I advise to apply for a visa in advance.
