About:Hainan 30-Day Visa-Free Access

Layover to Hainan

Am I able to fly from Bangkok to Hainan, with a 2hr layover in Guangzhou and still get the 30 day visa free visit? Does it make a difference that I've clearly departed an international port with intent on going to Hainan immediately afterwards?

I'm afraid you can't. To apply for a Hainan 30 day visa-free access, you need to fly directly to Hainan without any layover in other cities in China.

Sichuan Airlines and Hainan Airlines have non-stop, $145 round-trip
As you need to prove you have a ticket out, but a $70 ticket out to Macau should also work
