About:Hainan 30-Day Visa-Free Access

Hainan 30 day free visa

I am holding US passport. Plan to go Guangzhou for 3 days with the 72 hours free visa. Can I enter Hainan from Guangzhou and get 30 days free visa? Or I have to exit Guangzhou to Hong Kong and then continue travel to hainan? Thank you

No, you cannot enter Hainan from Guangzhou to get the 30-day access. And you are right that you will have to travel to HK or other territories then to Hainan to apply for it.

June, does this mean that even a scheduled layover in Guangzhou (Bangkok, Guangzhou, Sanya) makes me ineligible for the 30 day visa free visit?? Or is there an exception because they will see I clearly departed from another country with a temporary layover?
