You can arrive at one of three designated border crossings (Huanggang, Luohu and Shekou) and apply for a visa on arrival. However, recent experience clearly presents that the rate of success of the citizens of India poor, so you are suggested to postpone your planned visit to Shenzhen or to obtain a Chinese visa in advance. In reality, since you are a resident of Hong Kong, this detail could help you to increase your chances, but you should be aware that the success is not guaranteed at all. If you decide to apply you should bring your passport and bring your Hong Kong ID as a support document.

You will be considered as a foreigner applying China visa. Then the basic requirements for you are:
1. Passport.
2. Visa Application Form and Photo.
3. HK permanent ID card.
Other requirements depend on the visa type you apply.
