How the good solution if I go from shanghai to guangzhou

The direct flights take about 2.5h and cost CNY 700 - 2,000.
The direct bullet trains take 7-11h and cost CNY 600 - 793 for a second class seat.

Keith thank you but may be I am false to write, I mean Hangzhou(Zhejiang ) not guangzhou, I mean Hangzhou is the city near shanghai ( I see in google map 2,5 hours by car ) but I don't like to use taxy or car, I prefer by train or bus
now here I stay around the hotel in nanjing pedestrian street near bund area or nearest MRT is people square ,
the MRT name are people quare ;
so I asking from here, I want to go to hangzhou to west lake/Xi lake; the best and easy by train or bus...? do I must go to pudong or just stop the bus in the central city here, and which area
let me know and the price for train or bus....?
and how to booking the ticket, do I must go to the place 2 days before or may be the hotel around here sell the ticket

By bus:
Hongqiao Airport has direct buses to West Lake, taking CNY199 and 4h. And also, from People's Square MTR station, there are direct buses to Hangzhou Chenzhan Bus Station and Hangzhou Railway Station, where you can take metro line 7 to West Lake, taking CNY 80 and 4h.

By train:
The nearest train station is Shanghai Railway Station which can be easily reached by metro line 1 from People's Square. Catch a bullet train there to Hangzhou East or Hangzhou Railway Station, then take the metro line 1 or line 7 to West Lake. The bullet train takes CNY 88 or 92.5.

Both are pretty convenient for u.
