Bringing American ginseng to China? (2024)

Heading to China in April where we’ll be arriving at the Hong Kong International airport (leaving shortly after to mainland). Recently read that American ginseng is approved as a food ingredient in China, so was wondering if it is allowed to bring now or is it still prohibited?
