About:Shanghai Maglev Train Ticket

Recommended high speed rail timing from Hongqiao Railway Station to Nanjing South Station

My trip is in Dec 2024. My flight will land at 245pm in Pudong. Can I know how long does it take to clear Pudong arrival immigration? What is the recommended high speed rail timing that I should book from Hongqiao Railway station to Nanjing South Station? From airport to Hongqiao Rail station, should I take direct metro line 2 or take Maglev train?

Usually it takes 10-15 minutes if you have required documents, like return flight ticket and hotel reservation. It takes 75min to travel from the airport to Hongqiao by the maglev and metro line 2 and 1h40min only by metro line 2. Both ways are OK for you. And like I said, on weekends the direct metro line 2 is better.

To be on the safe side, the recommended Shanghai - Nanjing South train timing is after 18:00.

Today 26 June I had to wait 1h30 in queue for immigration at Pudong, was a late afternoon flight
