About:Chinese Embassy in U.K.

My wife is Chinese and lives in the UK and I am British and live in the UK

We got married in the UK. We would like to visit her family in China. I think I need a Q2 Visa but who is the invitor? Is it my wife or is it a family member of hers that lives in China?
