About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transit Rule for Uzbekistan Citizen

I am inquiring about the 24-hour transit rule for Uzbekistan citizens. My flight itinerary includes layovers in Beijing and Kunming, China, and I would like to know if I qualify for the 24-hour transit without a visa.

Flight Details:

1. Vladivostok (VVO) to Beijing (PKX)
- Departure: 00:45, February 6th
- Arrival: 01:30, February 6th
- Flight Duration: 2 hours 45 minutes
- Layover in Beijing: 5 hours 45 minutes

2. Beijing (PKX) to Kunming (KMG)
- Departure: 07:15, February 6th
- Arrival: 10:45, February 6th
- Flight Duration: 3 hours 30 minutes
- Layover in Kunming: 3 hours 25 minutes

3. Kunming (KMG) to Hanoi (HAN)
- Departure: 14:10, February 6th
- Arrival: 14:45, February 6th
- Flight Duration: 1 hour 35 minutes

If everything is correct, the total time spent in China from arrival in Beijing to departure from Kunming is approximately 12 hours and 40 minutes.

I appreciate your guidance and clarification on whether I meet the requirements for the 24-hour transit rule during my layovers in Beijing and Kunming.

Thank you for your assistance.

David, I can see that you have perfectly understood the essence of 24 hour visa free transit and I can just confirm that you are eligible for 24 hour visa free transit and you do not need any kind of visa. You are definitely allowed to have two stops within China when your total transit time is shorter than 24 hours, counting from your first scheduled arrival in China, in your case February 6th at 01:30, until your last scheduled departure, in your case February 6th at 14:10.

Your total transit time is far shorter than 24 hours, so you are good to go.

When you land in Beijing you will approach transit counter where you will apply, for free, for a temporary entry permit to be allowed to cross the immigration because you next flight will be a domestic one. Here, I strongly advise you to print out your flight tickets that you will present at transit counter.

Also, you should just inform yourself if your baggage will be tagged all the way to Hanoi at the check-in in Vladivosotok. I am more than certain that this will be the case if you are traveling on a single ticket, however, I repeat, ask for this detail. One more detail, before your landing in Beijing, arrival/departure cards will be dispensed on board of a plane and you should fill out one with a purpose - transit.
