About:How to Apply a China Visa in Hong Kong

Hong Kong born US passport holder applying a Chinese tourist Visa

China consulate office in the US would not take my first time visa application unless I renounce my Hong Kong Chinese nationality. I do not have a Hong Kong resident ID or Chinese passport. How can I visit mainland China? Will the144 hour transit visa free work for me to go to Guangzhou?

You can directly apply for the L visa by your US passport. You can also use 144-hour visa-free transit with the US passport.
