About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Philippine passport burly resident in USA

Hi, do I need to apply for China visa if my passport is Philippines but I am a resident of USA?

It is the citizenship that matters, not your residence. So, if you are in transit through China for a period shorter than 24 hours, you do not need any kind of visa, but if your transit time is longer just a minute more than 24 hours, you will have to obtain a Chinese visa in advance. I'm sorry.
