Melbourne to Chongqing

Greetings from Australia!

Can you please advise if this route is approved for China 72 hours visa free.

Melbourne to Singapore to Hong Kong to Chongqing.

From Chongqing to Singapore to Melbourne.

Flights all booked separately.

If I properly understand your itinerary will be:

Melbourne - Singapore - Hong Kong - Chongqing - Singapore - Melbourne

So, if I am correct and and you do not have any additional stop within mainland China and your return flight from Chongqing does not have a landing in Hong Kong of any kind and you will stay in Chongqing for more than 24 hours, you will be definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Chongqing area. It is perfectly fine to travel on separate tickets and unrelated airlines as far as your itinerary is eligible. Itinerary that you have presented is definitely eligible.

Also, 144 hour visa free transit has replaced 72 hour visa free transit years ago.
