Layover in Terminal 3

I was booking FRA-PEK-MNL with a 7 hrs layover during the afternoon. I was considering to take a nap at Aerotel (next to the Terminal) but now I am really hesitating... How much time I should calculate for getting to/from the Hotel? I was reading so many bad comments about being rejected to leave the building resp. obtaining the 24-hrs-visa.
In a few comments you can read, that T3 is a "ghost town" and most shops/restaurants are closed.
I regret, that I didn't do reserch before booking and I fear my wife will kill me, once we are in PEK ;)
