About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

Taipei - Guangzhou - Hong Kong (via ferry)

Hi, I'm an Australian residing in Taiwan. Am I eligible for a 144-hour visa-free visit if I fly from Taipei to Guangzhou, then get the ferry from Shekou port in Shenzhen directly to Hong Kong, and fly back to Taiwan.
Many thanks.

Yes, your itinerary is definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit, however you have to have several details in mind:

1. Your stay within mainland China has to be at least 1 minute longer than 24 hours, counting the scheduled, both plane and ferry, times.
2. You will have to book your ferry ticket through CKS - Chu Kong Passenger Transport Company in advance and print that ticket out in order to have it at hand in both Taipei and Guangzhou.
3. Please, have in mind that you will really have to take exactly that ferry you have bought your ticket for.
4. When you exit mainland China and reach Hong Kong, you can fly to Taipei or to any other destination.

Basically, this is it.
