About:Chinese Consulate in Toronto

Hi, I have a few questions, hope to get your feedback

- I plan on seeing a friend in China but he's on a work visa, does the invitation letter have to come from someone who is a permanent resident or it doesn't matter?
- Going through the document requirement for tourist visa, I didnt see bank statement, does that mean I can submit an application without one?
- As part of the requirement for a temporary resident im supposed to provide an original copy of my legal resident status(in my case, a study permit), can you confirm that this will be returned with the passport after I submit it?

Thanks

1. Your friend can offer you an invitation letter and it doesn't matter.

2. Are you a Canadian passport holder? If yes, then the bank statement is not necessary.

3.Generally, it will be given back to you.

I am not Canadian. I am an international student. So how much would you recommend I show in my bank statement?

Generally, if you need to provide the bank statement will be decided by the visa center. Anyway, since you have an invitation letter, you can submit these documents first.
