Do I need to apply for Chinese Visa to enter Hong Kong?

Do I need to apply for Chinese Visa to enter Hong Kong? Is it the same for Macau? I would like to visit both SARs but I am not too sure about the steps. If I am in Australia at the moment, is it still the same to apply through online? Thanks.

You need to apply for HK visa and Macau visa before visiting. It is better to apply for the both visas in advance in your home country as you are possibly rejected if applying in the third country.
