Travelling uk to Hanoi via Shenzhen

Hi,
I am travelling to Hanoi via Shenzhen airport. My layover in Shenzhen is 7 hours before my flight to Hanoi. Do I need to get a visa before I fly or do I just do it at the airport in Shenzhen?
