About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Travel to Thailand

Hi Guys,

Apologies for my ignorance!

I am UK Citizen & I plan to travel to Thailand via the following route:

London Gatwick -> Shanghai PuDong
14h45 min layover then,
Shanghai PuDong -> Bangkok Suvarnabhumi

Will I be eligible for a 24 hour visa free transit?
Will this allow me to leave the airport to have a bit of an explore?
