About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

DUBLIN - SHANGHAI (transit only not leaving airport) - MANILA - SHANGHAI (stay 2days) - DUBLIN

Hi, I am Irish citizen, landing in Shanghai airport on 4th Nov and go to Manila, Philippines same day without leaving airport (transit only but have separate itineraries, DUB-PVG-DUB and PVG-MAN-PVG), I will be back to PVG from Manila on 7th Nov and stay 2days in Shanghai and leave to Dublin on 9th Nov. Do I need to apply for 2 separate transit visas? each time come to Shanghai from different countries, first entry is purely for transit within 5-6hrs without leaving the airport

Your first itinerary is eligible for the 24-hour visa-free transit and the second one is covered by 144-hour visa-free transit. So no visa is needed.
