About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Beijing, Tianjin & Hebei

Hello,
We are UK nationals travelling to Hong Kong, with a transfer in Beijing Daxing airport. We are hoping to make use of the 144 hours transit visa free in Beijing. My concern is regarding our onward flight is to Hong Kong. Is this applicable?
