able to work in China on 72 hr free transit

I am going to be entering Shenzhen via the port terminal for a quick one day of work. Is the 72hr free Visa valid for this?

It depends on if your itinerary can be eligible for the visa-free transit. However, if it doesn't qualify, you can also apply for a 5-day Shenzhen visa on arrival.
