Visa requirements for entry to Shenzhen via ferry

Hello,
I am flying into Hong Kong and taking the ferry to the Shenzhen port of entry. Would a visa be required for entry here for 2 days? Or would the 72-hour visa free be valid?

If the 72-hour visa valid depends on your next destination. If your itinerary is HK-Shenzhen-HK, then it is not eligible.

To simplify the situation, you can relay on 5 days Shenzhen visa on arrival. In other words, you can take a ferry from Hong Kong to Shekou port in Shenzhen and apply for Shenzhen VOA at Shekou visa office. There are three details to have in mind:

- Opening hours of Shekou visa office are: 9:00 - 13:00 & 14:30 - 16:30
- Your movements are limited to Shenzhen city limits
- The price for Shenzhen VOA for us citizens is relatively steep 956 CNY (due to reciprocity) and it has to be payed by card only

Also, after your stay in Shenzhen, you can return to Hong Kong by taking any kind of transport or any border crossing and people usually take high speed train.
