Applying for an M Visa

last time I went to China I travelled using my British passport and I had an M visa valid for two years, do I need to return to UK to apply for this or can I apply for the same visa from Australia? This visa allowed me to stay up to 3 months at a time and was valid for two years. I had to leave China due to the pandemic. I also hold an Australian Passport so can I get the same Multi entry M visa valid for two years by applying here in Australia?
Thanks Campbell

It's possible for you to get a multiple-entry 2-year visa in Australia with your Australia passport, but the success rate is not high.

I advise you to put the China visas in one passport, better the UK passport, for it helps you obtain a 5-year or even 10-year China visa in the future. Perhaps, you can apply in Australia with your UK passport by presenting your legal stay permit there at first.
