When should I do my visa application

Hello,
I got tickets to China for late December and I also have all the required documents for the visa application. I have the invitation needed by a company in China, I got my passport, a recent passport-sized photo, plane tickets for round trip, hotel reservation and I will fill out the application form when it is needed.
So my question is when should I apply for the visa? Can I do it from now and still be valid after 3 months or should I do it in early December?

Generally, you should apply for a visa at least 1 month and no more than 3 months in advance.

Does all of the people applying for visa have to be there or can 1 person take all the documents for everyone?

As I know, applicants don't have to show up in person to lodge the submission recently. But still, you are advised to contact the embassy to double confirm it.
