M visa to Z visa

I am flying to China for work with an M visa and I have already recieved my "Notice of work permit" in my home country. Can I use those documents to apply for a Z visa in China whithout having to fly back to my country?

Yes, you can change it in the local entry and exit administration bureau with all required documents.
