About:Visa on Arrival

Overseas resident in HK

Hi there. I am a HK ID card holder living in HK and wish to travel to Shenzhen in October for three days. Do I need to buy a visa in advance or can I buy at the border? And do I need to take a particular mode of transport?

HKID card holders need to apply for a home return permit in advance to enter Shenzhen. You can travel by any mode of transport holding the permit.

Home return permits are only for HK passport holders, not for non-HK citizenship residents. You can try to apply at the border!
