Transit visa free

Hi, I am travelling from Paris to Sydney via Chengdu and wish to visit Chengdu visa-free for 48 hours.
Issue is that there are no direct flights from Paris to Sydney, so Paris -> beijing -> chengdu. Is it still posisible to get visa free travel? Thanks

Since you have two stops in mainland China and the transit time is over 24 hours, you can not get a visa-free transit. You have to obtain a Chinese visa in advance.
