About:China Tourist Visa

Multiple entry visa

Hi, I have visited China multiple times before and even studied there and learnt the language, and I am planning a trip for next year with my partner as I want to show her the country. We are both UK citizens for context. I would like to spend 3 months traveling the country, I know tourist visas allow for 30 days at a time, so I would have to leave and return, would the multiple entry visa allow me to do this so I can do a 30 day trip three times with a day in Macau/Hong Kong in between? A follow up question, when leaving the country, I would go to Hong Kong for a day, do I have to leave the airport/station and register at a hotel for it to count as having left the country, or can I simply arrive in Hong Kong for an hour or so and then return to China? I can’t remember exactly when you get the entry and exit stamps as it’s been a few years since i’ve visited! Thanks in advance :)

Yes, you can apply for a multiple-entry visa. Going to HK or Macau and activate a new duuration of stay of 30 days. BTW, you can also extend your duration of stay at a local entry amd exit bureau instead of leaving the mainland for HK or Macau.

You get the entry and exit stamps at the border check, so you don't need to register at a hotel as leving the country. But you need to register at a hotel or local policy station upon entry the second and third time.

Hi John, thanks for the help! Just to clarify, at the end when you say register at a hotel the second and third time, that is the second and third entry into China correct? Thanks again
