About:10-year China Visa for US and Canadian Citizens

10 year multiple entry M China visa

The last time I entered China through HK, the immigration officers told me I needed to apply for a new China visa every time I enter China; and then they let me enter China. But I have a 10 year M multiple entry visa that I got in HK this past March 2023. Why would they tell me this? Were they just testing me? Teasing me? My visa is a multiple entry, M, 10 year visa, valid until 2033. I’m a U.S. citizen.

When did this happen? In principle, you can enter China any time as long as you hold a valid visa.

It happened last week. That has NEVER happened to me before. I think they were over zealous and inexperienced.

I said "in principle" because there are always some exceptions and sometimes there is no reasons.
