About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

travel to Shenzhen

Hi,
I am an Australian Citizen and will be visiting Hongkong next month. We would like to visit Shenzhen for 2-3 days while we are in that region. I have heard about this 5 day VOA for Shenzhen but i am unable to get the information from any reliable/official source. I understand there are several ways to travel to Shenzhen but we would prefer train or bus. Is ferry travel easier or better for the purpose of VOA? which train stations have the visa facility? Tried to call the consulate and they were not very helpful.
Thanks

Yes, ferry is more convenient to get a visa on arrival. Take the earliest ferry from HK to Shekou port, and you will wait for less time than in other ports.

Thanks for the tip for travel from Hongkong to Shenzhen, i was reading the threads and it seems that bus is the cheapest way to get to Shenzhen. Does the bus drops off at a different point and not Shekou Port? Is it difficult to obtain on arrival visa if we travel by bus? We will travel with 2 young kids and will have luggage 2 Large+2Small luggage.

Bus is also okay but it is not so convenient. You may also take a metro to Luohu Port, which is also possible but the queue may be longer.
